With this devotional vocabulary as our focus, we craft each piece with silver foiled stones for shine, brass to hold them together and gold plated all over to make devotional Indian art available beyond the temple wall as accessible luxury. The Pichwai tradition began in 17th century Nathdwara, Rajasthan. Painted cloth panels hung behind Shrinathji in the temple, depicting his daily darshan, the seasons of Braj, and the lotus, peacock, cow, and gopi motifs that have become the visual signature of the tradition. Mortantra's Pichwai Inspired jewellery translates that visual vocabulary into wearable form, with gold plated metalwork holding the miniature at the centre. THE PIECE Four elements stacked into one long drop. At the stud, a pear shaped Kundan stone framed in gold. Below it, a small square panel with a four petal flower in raised gold relief. The centre of the earring is a circular miniature of Radha and Krishna he in blue with the flute, she in green and red, facing him on a teal ground. Finishing the drop is a Kundan set mango with a fine CZ outline, curling into a peacock head finial.
